Treason...

Whenever a TV programme comes on that features the Pyramids or the Colosseum in Rome or indeed any other ancient wonder, I always remark that had they been built in Britain there’d be f**k all left of them by now, probably a spot of waste ground with an NCP carpark. One of the saddest things about life in the UK is that everything is for sale and often to the lowest possible bidder, which brings me nicely on to the subject of the former Royal Mint building, a genuinely beautiful structure, classically styled with Corinthian pillars built atop a Cistercian abbey that went all of the way back in time to the year 1348. This beautiful building, steeped in heritage, that used to be Eastminster, yes just like Westminster, shouldn’t be the site of a new Chinese embassy, let alone one that is full of secret rooms that look suspiciously like holding cells and torture chambers.

The Chinese government is not well suited to Human Rights laws and won’t care what happens to captured dissidents held deep underground in soundproof rooms below the city of London, just look how well they treat the Uyghur Muslims in China with their re-education camps and compulsory organ harvesting programmes. An exiled Uyghur surgeon, Enver Tohti, testified that in 1995 he was forced to remove the organs of a prisoner who had been shot in the chest and was still alive during the operation. Then there’s the proximity of this new embassy to possibly the most important data cable in the World, the one that connects the banks at Canary Wharf to London’s famous city within a city, the Square Mile, home to the London Stock Exchange and the Bank of England. China as a state power is justifiably famous for hoovering up data, carrying out cyber-attacks and electronic warfare when it suits them which makes it unlikely that they won’t try to siphon some of the data out of those cables. You can’t trust them not to, no matter how much risk mitigation takes place, there’s always a risk. Given that the Mint building used to be a part of the Crown Estate, owned by the Monarch, makes it baffling to me as to how it was ever put up for sale and then purchased by the Chinese in the first place. The Chinese people might make cheap produce for us, but make no mistake they are not our allies, we only have one reliable ally in the world and that’s the United States of America, also let it be said that the Europeans are not our allies, can you for instance, think of a time when France has acted in the national interest of Great Britain? Me neither!

Allowing the Chinese to buy the site was bad enough, we’ve got the previous shower of a government to thank for that, but now approving the plans for the Chinese Embassy in the wake of the leaks about secret rooms, hidden chambers and access to the aforementioned cable seems to me to be a deliberate act of treason by a man who hasn’t got a good track record when it comes to standing up for Britain from Chinese bullying. The Chagos Islands is a gift to China, the construction of a Nuclear powerplant at Hinckley Point is yet another, and now an embassy on top of a data cable is yet another. How many more gifts have we got to give the People’s Republic of China to get this trade deal that’s apparently on the cards, and do we even want it given that, let’s face it, the Chinese way of doing things is deeply immoral to us? Blood money can never be washed clean…

If we are ever to get our country back, if we want to be a strong power again then we need to look at our morals, and stop compromising them for the sake of a quick buck, because that’s all that this boils down to, someone, somewhere wants to make money and that would be good for the god of GDP, it’s a nihilist god that believes in nothing, because it is nothing, yet all of our leaders worship it with unremitting religiosity.

Make no mistake if the pyramids had ever been built in Britain their stones would have been sold to a firm that makes concrete by now, and a blue plaque erected to the memory of those once mighty tombs would have been fastened on a nearby wall of cheerless red brick, marking the boundary of an NCP carpark, a stainless steel ticket machine would stand dismally in place of beauty, majesty and power, with a big sign detailing tariffs and prices, a smaller sign, not designed to be read would warn of the dangers of running over the allotted limits, the necessary justification for clampers and fines…

Addendum

Let me just add, that the Banks should leave London, go somewhere else, these institutions that are essential I am told for the National Interest are not being protected by our own government, who it seems are not acting in the ‘National Interest…#
